From IDEAM SA we are pleased to share the news of the appointment of Miguel Ortega Cornejo as the new president of the Spanish Committee for Standardization of UNE, CTN 140 “Structural Eurocodes “, mirror committee of the European Committee for Standardization (CEN and CENELEC) CEN/TC 250, in charge of the drafting of the Eurocodes.

Miguel has been involved in the development of the Eurocodes for many years, actively participating, among others, in the following groups, committees and Project Teams of the Eurocodes:
– European Horizontal Group Bridges representing CEN/TC250/SC-3 (Eurocode 3) since 2018.
– Project Team SC4.T1, in charge of drafting the second generation of Eurocode 4 for Composite (Steel&Concrete) Structures: EN 1994-1-1, EN 1994-1-2 and EN 1994-2, since 2015.
– Project Team SC10.T2, in charge of drafting the second generation of Basis of Design, Bridges EN 1990 A-2, since 2017.
– Project Team SC1.T4, in charge of drafting the second generation of the Eurocode of Thermal Actions EN 1991-1-5, since 2017.
– President of the Spanish Subcommittee CTN 140/SC4 Eurocode of Composite Structures, since 2017.
– Spanish Horizontal Group Bridges, since 2011.
– European and Spanish Subcommittees of Eurocodes SC-0 Basis of Design, SC-1 Actions, SC-3 Steel Structures and SC-4 Composite Structures.
– European Working Groups of Eurocodes: WG EN 1993-1-9, WG EN 1993-2, WG EN 1994-2.
– Drafting of the Spanish National Annexes of the Eurocodes 0 Bases of Design and 1 Actions, between 2010 and 2013
– Spanish mirror group of EN 1991-2.
