Candelaria Viaduct on the Maya Train, Mexico

The construction of 990 m long composite Candelaria Viaduct, in Section 1 of the Maya Train, in Mexico, has recently been completed.

IDEAM | A TYLin Company is collaborating with the LAMAT Section 1 Consortium, led by Mota-Engil México, carrying out the detailed design and technical assistance during the execution of Candelaria urban Viaduct, other 2 compsosite viaducts of Section 1 of the Maya Train, Tenosique of 2,920 m and Escárcega, 1,080 m long, the Palenque Station Viaduct, together with other smaller structures.

The composite viaducts, designed by IDEAM | A TYLin Company and manufactured by the steel workshop Recal , are executed with a succession of multiple isostatic spans with a typical span of 40 m, with a steel twin girder connected to the upper concrete slab, closing the lower torsional circuit by means of a steel inferior bracing, and are transported complete from Guadalajara by road, covering more than 1,330 km of distance.

Viaducts designed for double track, in the first phase of commissioning, will only have single track, as can be seen in the images of Candelaria.

Work continues at a very good pace on the rest of the viaducts of the section, and shortly the stell segments of the Boca del Cerro Viaduct, the longest span of the line, will begin to be assembled.
